Mission Statement

Pride On The Hill is an official affiliate of the Tufts University Alumni Association, and exists to benefit the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, alumni and straight allies of the Tufts University community.

Pride On The Hill shall provide lectures, events, books, educational material, information, workshops, and other programming to the Tufts campus. It shall disseminate the same to Tufts alumni around the world in order to increase the visibility of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender persons, and educate all students, faculty, staff, and administrators of Tufts University on gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues and culture.

Pride On The Hill will promote and encourage understanding, cooperation, diversity, and the elimination of prejudice and discrimination by providing programming, resources, education, and support to all members of the Tufts community.

The activities of Pride On The Hill will aid gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender members of the Tufts community, people within the Tufts community learning about sexuality or questioning their own, and the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community at large, as well as all those of the Tufts community who can benefit from exposure to the issues and culture of the many different peoples of this world.

Pride On The Hill shall facilitate social and professional contacts between alumni/ae, improve relations with the college and its alumni/ae organizations, and be a link to the nonacademic world for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students. This link to the post-collegiate world is vital to provide continuity in the development of our cultural awareness and heritage.
